um, its not bad, they use mineral oil in high voltage transformers and other high voltage applications because it conducts heat very well, but doest conduct electricity at all. the bad thing about this is if you want to change a card or somthing. also, vegitable oil goes ranced, mineral oil doesnt

Waste of energy, and isn't that REALLY bad for the computer to be in that stuff?

Yeah, thats special alright. Now stop dicking around and build me a PC that doesn't give me an error message every 5 minutes.

cool. i didnt even know this was possible, i guess this would be great for deep see dives cuz of the pressure. you might be on to something. ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!

very interesting. Want to try it but i'm scared. I'll see how my friends project works first.
Do you need to circulate it at all or is the heat transefer equilibrium good enough.

Didn't Cray use circulated oil to cool the CPUs in their mainframe supercomputers at one time?
December 5th, 2008 at 06:38:40 i dont get it. wht does oil do ??
December 5th, 2008 at 07:01:39 Nothing, since it's non-conductive.
December 5th, 2008 at 07:24:38 maybe just stick to external drives? haha yeah i bet cds will get mucked up
December 5th, 2008 at 07:47:37 I knew you could use mineral oil, but vege oil?
December 5th, 2008 at 08:10:36 Can this run cd/dvd's?

December 5th, 2008 at 08:56:34 good
December 5th, 2008 at 09:19:33 does it work with dualcore processors??
December 5th, 2008 at 09:42:32 What will happen to the power supplier if we covered it with oil?
December 5th, 2008 at 10:05:31 ti kanei re o trelos.....!!!!!!

December 5th, 2008 at 11:14:28 Nice one. Thats one of the error messages I get often.
December 5th, 2008 at 11:37:27 Ignorance of the operating system on part of the user is not a hardware fault.
December 5th, 2008 at 12:00:26 y r u wasting so much oil ?

December 5th, 2008 at 13:55:21 that looks disgusting..use mineral oil instead. its clear, not yellow
December 5th, 2008 at 14:18:20 Cool but oil evaporates and decompose with heat. Need to change often
